Jumwa is a thirteen year old girl who was born deaf. Her parents are poor peasant farmers who were unable to give her the care that she needed. Through your sponsorship she is able to attend a hearing impaired unit at the Gede Primary School on the coast of Kenya. She also receives room and board at the school and lives with the other special needs students. Jumwa has begun to learn sign language, which has helped her to communicate with others and make new friends. She is a very sweet girl and helps to take care of some of the other children at the school. Jumwa does very well in school and her favorite subject is in math. She enjoys playing games and sports.
