Thomas Yaa Kithi is a seven-year-old boy who has been completely deaf since birth. Thomas’ mother works as a peasant farmer and his father as a mason. Thomas has been living in a mud hut with a tin roof for most of his life. Thomas enjoys playing with toys, making new friends, and enjoys jumping. Thomas is able to use sign language and English and it is unsure if he is able to lip read his native tongue: Giriama. If Thomas is sponsored, the sponsor will be providing Thomas with the special education that he needs, as well as his room, board, and toiletry needs.
