Tumaini is a boy with cerebral palsy. He can walk but his cerebral palsy causes him to have autism and slow learning capablity. Tumaini has 5 siblings and his parents live in a small mud hut with a thatched roof. His mother, Maneono is a housewife and His father, Safari works as a carpenter to support his family. However, with an average income of only a one dollar per day, they are unable to afford the $150 a year for their special needs son to attend the Gede cerebral palsy unit at Gede primary school. Your support will enable him to attend this boarding facility where he will receive physical therapy, specialized education and three meals a day.
Tumaini attends the local Anglican church and can speak Kigiriama and Kiswahili. He especially enjoys playing soccer (referred to as “football” there).
