Rehema has had pretty severe health issues, in addition to her hearing impairment. She has learned how to communicate fluently in sign language. Being able to speak to her teachers and classmates has made her life much better. Since joining the Gede special boarding facility, she has continued to fight through illnesses. She has had malaria several times, but has been able to receive the medicine she needs to deal with it. She is able to attend classes and is an average student. While her verbal communication is not as good as her sign language, she really enjoys English class. In addition to her language and health needs, Rehema has been able to make several friends and has healthy interaction with her peers. She had a sponsor, but they have discontinued so she needs a new one to ensure she continues her education.
