Dama Muramba

Deaf
Dama_muramba_full Dama is a young girl who is deaf. Therefore it is very important that she attend the Gede school for the deaf. Through this school, she will receive proper education and 3 meals a day in addition to learning sign language and have a place to stay during the week (her home is far away from the school). Having adequate food is especially important since there is currently a drought and subsequent famine in the area. Dama’s father, Thoya, and her mother, Margaret, are peasant farmers. This earns them barely enough to survive on. Therefore they live in a small mud house with a thatched roof. Your contribution will allow her to go to the Gede school for the hearing impaired. Dama’s family speaks Kiswahili and Kigiriama and is Christian. She loves cooking and athletics. She is also a very smart girl who learns quickly.
