Little Anna had multiple seizures when she was just 2 weeks old from an unknown sickness. She has hydrocephalus (fluid around the brain) which will only worsen if it is not taken care of. She is not yet old enough to attend school but your sponsorship will provide proper nutrition and for life saving shunting. Shunting is the insertion of a tube into the head that drains the fluid from her brain. Her head will then stop expanding and the pressure will be relieved from her brain.
Her father refuses to take care of her and blames evil spirits, from the mother, for her disability. Unfortunately this happens often with parents of children with disabilities in Kenya. In addition to this attitude the family has 7 other children to care for and make very little money farming their small plot of land.
