Rehema Kazungu

Deaf
Rehema_kazungu_full Rehema is hard of hearing (her level of hearing has not yet been officially determined) due to high fever associated with malaria at a young age. She can hear loud noises but cannot understand speech nor can she speak. It has not yet been determined whether or not a hearing aid could benefit her. Her parents are very poor living in an area with very little rain fall. They try to earn money by selling crops from their small plot of land in addition to tapping trees for palm wine. They live in a small mud hut that has only a thatched roof with Rehema and her three siblings. Your sponsorship will enable Rehema to attend the deaf unit at the Gede Special School where she will learn formal sign language, have three meals a day, a place to sleep and access to proper education. Thank you for making a difference in the life of this beautiful girl!
