Karembo Philip

Cerebral Palsy
Karembo_philip__marafa__full Karembo (which means "beautiful" in Swahili) is a girl who has cerebral palsy. She had an unknown sickness that caused bleeding in her nose and eyes. Since that time she has had cerebral palsy, epilepsy, lack of speech and mild mental impairment. This young lady’s mother died leaving her father to care for her alone. He has the help of other family members as is typical in Kenya culture. However life is still difficult as he looks for odd jobs to care for Karembo and her three siblings. They live in a drought prone area which causes many food shortages. Karembo loves gospel music since she was brought up in the local Baptist church. She also really enjoys cooking when she gets a chance. Your sponsorship will enable Karembo to attend the Marafa Special School and boarding facility where she will receive three meals a day, a place to sleep and access to the education she needs. She has not been in school before. Thank you for making a difference in the life of this young woman.
