Amani Thoya is an eleven-year-old boy who is hearing impaired. Amani was born in a grass hut with his two brothers and one sister. While Amani's name is Swahili for "Peace", he has had a very difficult upbringing. His father passed away and he was abandoned by his mother. He desperately needs toiletries, a school uniform, and boarding fees so that he may be given food, shelter, and an education. Through sponsorship fees, Amani ‘s basic needs may be met, as well as his social needs, including learning to communicate with others.
