Sifa is an 8 year old boy with cerebral palsy. This condition came about when he became sick as a very young child. The high fever caused him to have convulsions resulting in cerebral palsy. His condition affects his head movement as well as both arms and legs. His father died leaving his mother, Agnes Kalume, to care for Sifa and his two brothers alone. His grandmother also helped to care for him but she recently passed away. His mom works in cleaning services to try and raise funds to keep up her small mud hut where her family lives. Sifa’s condition is very severe and therefore requires much attention and care. However, she has faith in God to get her through.
Your sponsorship will enable him to attend the Gede Special School, cerebral palsy unit. In addition to physical therapy, Sifa will receive three meals a day, a place to sleep and specialized education. He also needs a special wheelchair with head support and doctor’s treatment for reoccurring chest problems that he suffers.
